A Consideration on the Assignments which use the Movement and Interactive Data: Materials presented for the Assignments and the Style of the Works by Students
In December of 1998, applied uses of visual media expression in art classes were introduced in Courses of Study in lower secondary schools. In response to this, Design Course of Fine Art Education of Lower Secondary School Education in Naruto University of Education has brought in the use of visual media expression as one of the teaching materials. I produced some works experimentally using Adobe Flash which enables users to choose images and input programs intuitively. I uploaded my works on Web pages as a reference and I prepared some tips when using Action Script. This software has been used as a part of practical training of the classes I taught since 2012. 42 works by students were submitted from 2015 to 2018. After analyzing how students used the techniques introduced in the class, I can see the creativity and originality of each student. Some expression tends to be influenced by works and techniques used by teachers. One of students, however, made artistic works using computer programming before graduating with the help of a teacher from different course. Therefore, I conclude that the use of visual media expression in the university classes is effective to some extent.
