Transition of “Artistic play activities” seen in textbook Subject: Based on the analysis of the textbook published in response to the course of study announced in 1977

“Artistic play activities” was positioned as the content of the Art and Handicrafts department in the announced in 1977. After that, every time the course of study is revised, the target grades are expanded. In this study, in order to consider the future of “Artistic play activities” in the current educational field, we decided to focus on textbooks in response to the course of study in 1977. We analyzed the subject matter of “Artistic play activities” published in textbooks and considered how they were understood by teachers. As a result, we found that the content and names of the material in 1977 had factors that made teachers misunderstand “Artistic play activities.”
