A science class for observation of the spectrum of sunlight and the absorption spectrum of green leaves was conducted for lower secondary students in Laos by making and using a hand-on DVD spectrometer. Although this lesson was effective in deepening students' understanding of the principle and the making method of the DVD spectrometer and in encouraging students to learn actively, it was insufficient in helping all students understand the relationship between the absorption of light and the appearance of colors. In the future, it is necessary to flexibly adjust the content and process of learning activities according to students’ awareness and curiosity. |
