| 内容記述 | This study investigated the association between generative AI use and Meta AI Literacy (MAILS) among university/college students and practitioners in early childhood education and care (ECEC) in Japan, comparing cohorts from fiscal years 2024 and 2025 and examining differences by years of professional experience. An online cross-sectional survey assessed generative AI use frequency and the Japanese translation of MAILS (subscales: AI Literacy, AI Self-Efficacy, AI Self-Competency, Create AI). Year-to-year comparisons were conducted with Welch’s t tests, and practitioner groups (≤3 years, 4-9 years, ≥10 years of experience) were compared using Welch’s ANOVA with Games-Howell post hoc tests. Free-text responses were analyzed to capture perceived benefits and concerns. The 2025 student cohort reported higher generative AI use compared with the 2024 cohort, and higher-use groups consistently scored higher across MAILS subscales. Among practitioners in ECEC, overall year-to-year differences were not significant; however, those with ≤3 years of experience reported relatively higher AI use and higher literacy/self-efficacy on certain subscales than more experienced groups. Qualitative responses reflected both expectations (e.g., efficiency, learning support) and concerns (e.g., dependency, misuse, privacy). Generative AI literacy encompasses not only technical knowledge but also psychological meta-competencies such as self-efficacy. Educational implications include supporting students in academic uses (writing, translation, idea generation) and providing practitioners in ECEC with practice-relevant applications and ethical/security guidance. Limitations include the cross-sectional design, differences in student cohorts across years, reliance on self-report, and the use of a Japanese MAILS translation without invariance testing. Further validation and longitudinal or intervention studies are required. | |||||||||||
