For example, exiting the status of least-developed country (LDC) requires eradicating poverty in a sustainable and suitable method in Laos. The government of the Lao PDR has decided the Policy of the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NPEP) and presented the strategic approach "Fighting Poverty through Humann Resouce Development". On this basis, the attention in the policy has been oriented toward the basic education. Above all things, emphasize of scheme in education by the cooperation between ministry of education (MOE) in Laos and JICA has been placed on the development of quality of teaching in the teacher training colleges/schools in Laos to improve science and mathematics education for primary and secondary schools.
