This paper attempts to explore the possibilities of meaningful 'Cooperation' for the improvement of children's self-esteem, and pays attention to provide children with the opportunity of rich experiences such as adventures. In order to approach above-mentioned subjects, we conducted questionnaire survey for the municipal boards of education all over the country. Responses to our survey were 296 (39.9 percent) of 742 that we inquired. The purpose of this paper is to examine the consciousness of the personnel of the educational boards of education concerning their 'Cooperation' that affected children's self-esteem. Major findings are as follows ; 1) Among respondents, personnel with experience in teaching profession were more likely than those without, to assume improving students'self-esteem as important issue. 2) It had something in common among the boards of education answered undertaking activities that leads to improve in children's self-esteem, that is, they regarded 'contact / interact' with others or environment as the important concept of their education planning. 3) The respondents with experience in teaching profession were more likely than others to have following ideas. The children's self-esteem are the products of complex process of 'the approval and praise' from others, and 'self-efficacy'. 4) On inquiry about the concrete example of activities that leads to the improvement of self-esteem, the personnel of school education division concerned with 'volunteer activities' and 'child-centered activities'. On the other hand, the personnel of social education division concerned with 'participation to local events' and 'different generation's interaction'. Many personnel think that 'a sense of accomplishment' is important to realize through certain activities.
