| 内容記述 | There are many kindergartens in Tokushima Prefecture, and the rate of public kindergarten enrollment has been higher than in other prefectures. In Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture, many students attend public kindergartens. However, the number of public kindergartens is decreasing owing to a shortage of children and a shift in political support from kindergartens to Kodomo-en. Given this situation, some kindergarten buildings were designed by Masuda Tomoya, a famous architect of the 20th century. He was a professor at Kyoto University, and his architectural style was known as modernism. In this study, I focused on the Seto Kindergarten, designed by Masuda. The Seto Kindergarten building was constructed using concrete and had minimal decoration. The walls of the kindergarten’s playroom were predominantly made of glass, allowing a panoramic view of the surroundings and a sense of being in nature. There was no stage or curtain in the playroom, which allowed children and teachers to use the room flexibly according to their play activities. This design style facilitated free and dynamic play for the children. There is a need to analyze other kindergarten buildings, for example, Naruto Higasi kindergarten and Shimada Kindergarten, which were subsequently designed by Masuda. | |||||||||||
