| 内容記述 | Diarrheal diseases are one of the most common diseases among children in Laos, and the main reason is that hygiene practices such as hand washing have not been widespread yet. Using soap as a teaching material, we conducted primary and secondary science classes in Laos to help students enhance their interest in hand washing and wash their hands habitually. In this class, we taught students how to wash their hands effectively by making solid soap with liquid soap and using a chemical to visualize dirt on hands. This learning activity was found to be effective for both primary and secondary students in increasing their interest and motivation in hand washing. Although soap is a familiar daily material, its forming process includes high school learning contents in chemistry, such as salting-out and saponification. This activity is expected to be useful not only for hygiene instruction but also for advanced science learning according to learners’ grades. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
